Mabel Alfreda Duncan age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023 in the Grayson Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Duncan was born in Carroll County, Virginia on October 23, 1940 to Roy Glee and Leota Mae Byrd Johnson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Fletcher Duncan and son son Cardell Davis.

She is survived by two daughters Rhonda Ayers of Galax, Virginia; Tammy Davis of Independence Virginia; brother Bobby Johnson of Fries, Virginia; three grandchildren and spouses Keisha and Edward Montgomery of Tampa, Florida; Kelsie and Eric Gatchel; Logan and Laura Whitt all of Galax, Virginia; five great-grandchildren Kelan Montgomery; Kasen Montgomery; Emery Gatchel; Parker Gatchel and Luca Whitt; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Hope Church with Pastor Darrin Brannock officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the church.
