Lyall Dean Schroeder age 82 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Sunday, February 22, 2026 at his home.

Mr. Schroeder was born on March 3, 1943 in Chaseburg, Wisconsin to Harold and Lorene Schlicht Schroeder. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Elden Schroeder and Arlen Schroeder.

Mr. Schroeder was a clock repairmen, a golfer and enjoyed curling.

He is survived by his wife Corinne Schroeder of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Kimberly and Patrick Schachle of Galax, Virginia; Deborah and Christopher Caufman of Hillsville, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Marla and Charles Timm of Cottonwood, Minnesota; sister-in-law Jenny Schroeder of Onalaska, Wisconsin; seven grandchildren; Hannah Wright (Nathan); Andrew Fisher; Lily Checket; Nathan Caufman (Marissa); Cameron Caufman; David  Schachle; Matthew Schachle;   one great-grandson Luke Wright; several nieces and nephews; his faithful feline friend Ben.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday March 21, 2026 at 2:00 PM in Holy Trinity Lutheran Church (405 West Main Street, Wytheville, Virginia 24382). The service will also be streamed on the church Facebook page for anyone who cannot attend in person. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please consider making a donation to Blood Cancer United or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
