Luther Berlin "Luke" Leonard age 87 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday afternoon at his home. He was born in Carroll County, Va. on June 24, 1919 to the late James Conner and Rhoda Surratt Leonard. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Kate Leonard; daughter Bonnie Lyons; grandson Blaine Lyons; three sons-in-law; sisters Ailene Goodson & Irene Burcham and a brother Olen Leonard. He is survived by his children Doug Leonard, Louise Bobbitt and Wanda Ayers all of Galax, Va.; brother & sister-in-law, John & Peggy Leonard of Salem, Virginia; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Sunday November 5, 2006 at 2:00 PM in Blue Ridge Chapel Church with Rev. David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Blue Ridge Chapel Church.
