Luther Scott Isom age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 5, 2019 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Isom was born November 16, 1936 in Grayson County, Virginia to Foy and Famie Hackler Isom. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean Isom.

He is survived by two daughters Debbie Montgomery and Rocks-Anna Isom both of Galax, Virginia; step-son and wife Gary and Beverly Hildwein of Mt. Wolfe, Pennsylvania; grandchildren and spouses Scott and Sara Hall of Galax, Virginia; Karen and Bryan Lee of Clemons, North Carolina; Heather Montgomery of Galax, Virginia; Cody Montgomery of Ennice, North Carolina; Lindsey and Ryan Pouncy of Bel Air, Maryland; Megan Hildwein of Bel Air, Maryland; Sara Hildwein of Mt. Wolfe, Pennsylvania and Lauren Hildwein of Mt. Wolfe, Pennsylvania; nine great-grandchildren; brother Harold Isom of Baywood, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Bill Spurlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The family is gathering at the home of Rocks-Anna, 203 Cherry Street, Galax, Virginia where family and friends may call.
