Luther P. Burcham's Obituary
Luther P. Burcham, age 94, of Galax, died Saturday, June 27, 2009 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA.
Mr. Burcham was born Feb, 20, 1915 in Carroll County to George Columbus and Martha Hawks Burcham.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn & Franklin Bottomley of Galax and Doris and Eddie Keen of Boonville, NC; grandchildren, Alan Burcham, Missy Wilson, Tina East, Jeff Bottomley and Brant Bottomley; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Burcham's wife, Ola and son, Dexter, preceded him in death.
The funeral service will be held at the Oakland United Methodist Church Monday, June 29, 2009 at 3:00 PM and burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery, Visitation will be held at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the funeral service. The Rev. Myron Dalton and the Rev. Ted Bartlett will be the officiating ministers.
