Lura Forrest Carico age 90 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Carico was born in Grayson County, Virginia on April 22, 1919 to Raleigh Washington & Euginia Frazier Bobbitt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William Dillon Carico, son William Robert Carico and grandsons Duane Mathews and Shane Mitchell.
She is survived by her children and spouses Lura Beatrice Thomas; Jean Bernell Isom; Vanessa & Gary Carter all of Galax, Va.; John & Jeannie Carico of Spokane, Washington; Mary Carico of Dent, Maryland; Harvey & Peggy Carico of Galax, Va.; Randy & Shirley Jennings of Glenville, West Virginia; sister-in-law Lola Williams of Galax, Va.; twenty grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren;; seventeen great-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 3:00pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Harvey Carico and Beth White officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetry. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:00 pm until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
