Lula Hooven Semones age 76 of Trenton, North Carolina passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the home of her daughter in Kinston, North Carolina.

Mrs. Semones was born in West Virginia on January 9, 1936 to William E. and Fredith Louise Price Hooven. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Nelson Semones; a granddaughter Sherry Haynes and brothers Jim Hooven and Joe Hooven.

She is survived by her daughters Gail Lee of Trenton, North Carolina and Sherrie Semones of Kinston, North Carolina; sons Timothy Semones of New Bern, North Carolina and John Semones of Clemmons, North Carolina; daughters-in-law Ann Semones and Cassie James; son-in-law Dennis Lee; sisters Edna Farmer and Mary Kenny both of Galax, Virginia; brothers Doug Hooven, Bill Hooven, and E.J. Hooven all of Galax, Virginia; grandkids Dennis Lee, Jr., Douglas Lee, Laura Haskins, Matthew Semones, Allie Semones, Victory Semones, Isabella Semones, Elizabeth Semones and Gabriella Semones, great-grandson Cameron Helton.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Joe Farmer and Rev. Tracy Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
