Lowell Lee Edwards, known by many as "Papa Lowell" went home to be with the Lord June 9, 2023 at the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mr. Edwards was born November 12, 1937 in Virginia to the late Jim and Judy Quesenberry Edwards. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Phyllis Ann Barton Edwards.

Lowell graduated from Woodlawn High School and was a retired truck driver of more than thirty years. He loved watching his grandsons play sports.  He was a loving father, father-in-law, grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him. He never met a stranger. He was a member of Skyview Baptist Church and loved serving the Lord.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter and son-in-law Karen and Larry Bowman of Fancy Gap, Virginia; his pride and joy grandsons and spouses Brock and Cory Bowman; Blake and Meredith Bowman; Bronson and Taylor Bowman and Brogon Bowman.  He was blessed with seven great-grandchildren Silas Bowman, Deacon Bowman, Fletcher Bowman, Gatlyn Bowman; Banks Bowman, Lettie Rose Bowman and Camdyn Bowman; two great-granddaughters on the way. Also surviving are his very special  friend Ina Delp along with Greg and Donna Delp; Ashely, Gary and Dalton Linville.

The funeral service will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Wendell Horton and Gary Horton officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.  In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home or Skyview Baptist Church.
