Louvenia May Sachs, 89, of Albermarle, North Carolina passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at her residence.

Mrs. Sachs was born on January 18, 1923 in Galax, Virginia to Edgar and Thelma Hodges Vaughan. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Jack Sachs.

Mrs. Sachs was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church in Galax, Virginia and enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and a special cat, Spanky.

Louvenia May Sachs is survived by two sons; Gregory Sachs and wife Rhonda of Albemarle, North Carolina; Van Sachs and wife Laura of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Roy Delp of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Emily Sachs, Dana Duggins and husband Doug, Michael Sachs and wife Abby, Melissa Delp, Michael Delp and wife Angela, and Michelle Kemp; great-grandchildren Timothy Duggins, Parker Duggins, Leanna Duggins, Eliette Sachs, Michael Delp, Zoe Delp, Lexie Delp and Garrett Delp; sisters Lois Alderman and Mattie Roberts both of Galax, Virginia; brother and sister-in-law James and Norma Vaughan of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial graveside service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 1:00 PM in the Cox Cemetery with Pastor Ron Loflin officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
