Lourena Sharp Edwards Lawson age 82 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday December 23, 2021 at her home.

Mrs. Lawson was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 8, 1939 to Lawrence McKinley and Polly Elizabeth Lineberry Sharp. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Jamey Wray Lawson; granddaughter Lauren Bolen and brother Harbert Sharp.

She is survived by her husband Boyd Lawson of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Teresa and Jeff Davis of Woodlawn, Virginia; one grandson and wife Brandon Michael and Stephanie Wright of Woodlawn, Virginia; five great-grandchildren Malaia Caviness; Keyanna Caviness; Oaklyn Bolen; Jack Wright and Lily Wright; nephew Kenneth Sharp; great-nephew Kevin Sharp.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Angie Lineberry officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
