Loura Lee Evans, age 60, of Baywood, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on September 29, 2026, hand in hand with the love of her life, her husband, Jerry.

Loura was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished friend, and beloved Nana to six grandchildren. She and Jerry shared 28 years of marriage, building a life rooted in faith, family, love, and devotion.

Loura dedicated her life to caring for the people she loved. As a full-time mother and caretaker, she found her greatest purpose and joy in loving and serving her family.

Of all the roles she held in her life, being a Nana was perhaps her greatest joy. Loura absolutely adored her grandbabies, and being their Nana was her favorite thing in the world. She treasured each of her six grandchildren and delighted in every moment she shared with them. The love she poured into them will remain a lasting part of their lives and one of the most beautiful pieces of the legacy she leaves behind.

Above all else, Loura loved the Lord with all her heart. Her Christian faith was the foundation of her life, and she trusted in the Lord through every season. She lived her faith not only in words, but through the love, kindness, and care she showed to those around her. Her family finds comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of the Savior she loved so dearly.

Loura will be deeply missed by her husband, Jerry Evans; her mother, Nancy Vaughan; her sons, Michael Cole Evans and Jeramy Thomas Evans (Katie Evans); her daughter, Tonya Jordan (Joe Jordan); and her six beloved grandchildren, Desmond, Devon, Elaina “Ellie,” Esme, and Jackson Jordan, and Layton Evans.

She is also survived by her brother, Jason Vaughan (April Vaughan); niece, Kelsey Ceritano (Gabe Ceritano); great-nephew, Cooper Ceritano; great-niece, Gianna Ceritano; nephews, Bradley and Preston Vaughan; her mother-in-law, Judy-Evans Lambert; aunt and uncle, Karen and Johnny Dickson; and special friends and family, Theresa Talley, Gina Burris, Jenny Spivey, Heather Snow, and Kayla Upchurch, along with many other family members and friends who loved her dearly.

Loura held a special place in her heart for Jeramy’s friends, many of whom she lovingly welcomed into her family and her home and came to consider her own. Her door was always open, and so was her heart. The love, acceptance, and kindness she gave so freely will be remembered by all who were blessed to know her.

Loura was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Vaughan; father-in-law, Jack Evans; mother-in-law, Juanita Bourne; sister-in-law, Jackie McMickle; and brother-in-law, Tony Evans.

Loura leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, love, and devotion that will live on through the many lives she touched. Though her family’s hearts are broken by her absence, they find comfort in knowing that her earthly journey is complete and that she is now home with the Lord.
