Lou V. Vaughan, age 93, died at her home in Fries, VA, Saturday, August 23, 2014.
Mrs. Vaughan was born July 9, 1921 in Grayson County, Virginia to Harvey George & Jane Shields Jones Hendricks. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Blair Vaughan.
She is survived by daughters & son-in-law, Virginia Snow, Sparta, NC and Pam & John Childress, Fries, VA; ten grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews; two special friends, Dallas & Rhonda, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Monday, Aug. 25, 2014, 3:00 PM at the Atkins Memorial United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Officiating will be the Rev. Chris Smith. Mrs. Vaughan will lie in state from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Monday preceding the funeral service at the church.
