Lou Ella Rutherford age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday November 23, 2022 at the Woltz Hospice Home in Dobson, North Carolina.

Mrs. Rutherford was born in Grayson County, Virginia on April 5, 1939 to Carl and Etta Duncan Blackburn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Danny Ray Donithan; two sisters Shirley Caudill Brewer and Gwyn Church; two brothers Gayle Blackburn and James Blackburn.

She is survived by her husband Ruedolph Rutherford of Galax, Virginia; sister Pauline "Polly" Burcham of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church with Elder Herbert Rutherford and Elder Wayne Todd officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
