Lottie Ethel Thomason Bowers, 81, went to be with the Lord with family and friends at her bedside on Friday, December 2, 2011 at the Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born August 21, 1930 to the late Coon Boyd Thomason and Mary Ethel Hall Thomason. She is the widow the late Gleamer Sidney Bowers.

She is survived by two sons: Jimmy Ray Bowers of Galax, VA; Sidney Junior Bowers of Jacksonville, Florida; one daughter: Mahaley Marie Bowers Williams of Wytheville, VA; two step daughters & spouses: Kathy & Gary Graber; Judy & Frank Higgins all of Galax, VA; thee stepsons & spouses: Emmett & Sandra Bowers of Galax, Virginia; Charles Bowers of Lebanon, VA; Bobby & Linda Bowers of Bridgewater, VA; 3 sisters & brothers-in-law: Margarett Newman (John) Shirley Price (late Clarence) all of Galax, VA and Lillae Mae Joyce (Herbert) of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; three brothers & sisters-in-law: Danny Thomason (Shirley); Bill Thomason (late Alma) & Herman Thomason (late Betty) all of Galax, VA. Six grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 18 step great grandchildren also survive along with special friends Dale Satterfield, Lisa Frost, and Kyle Christman.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening, December 4, 2011 from 6 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. The funeral service will be held Monday, December 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastors Rodney Christman and Richard Fitzgerald. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery in Alleghany County, North Carolina.
