Lorraine Absher Bryan age 77 of Raleigh, North Carolina and formerly of Galax, Va. passed away Monday, April 6,2009 in the Rex Healthcare in Raleigh, N.C.. Mrs. Bryan was born in Wythe County, Va. on October 7, 1931 to Frank & Donella Howard Absher. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Edward Bryan. She is survived by her children Debra Bryan Fields & Marcus Bryan both of Raleigh, N.C.; James M. Bryan & Scott Bryan both of Atlanta, Ga.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one granddaughter-in-law; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 9, 2009 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Joel Brown & Rev. Jackie Reeves officiating. Burial will follow in the Oldtown Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday morning from ten until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
