Lorita Richardson Lawson age 79 of Galax, Va. passed away Friday, July 18, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Lawson was born in Carroll County, Va. on April 27, 1929 to Vance & Lora Galyean Richardson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carl Lee Lawson; twin daughters; grandson Randy Lawson; sister Faye Goodson and brother Willard Richardson. She is survived by her daughters & son-in-law Shirley Alford; Judy Elliott both of Galax, Va.; Peggy & Doug Carroll of Bassett, Va.; sons James Carl Lawson; Charles Lee Lawson & Eric Allen Lawson all of Galax, Va.; brother & sister-in-law Junior & Imogene Richardson of Galax, Va.; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Monday, July 21, 2008 at 11:00 am in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bobby Akers & Rev. Billy Redd officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to Pipers Gap Rescue Squad.
