Lonnie Junior Weddle, 72, husband of Wanda Sutherland Weddle, formerly of Blacksburg, Va. passed away March 25, 2011.

A native of Floyd County, Va. he was a son of the late Lonnie V.and Hannah Rittie Dickerson Weddle, owner of Bankers Realty, a member of Morningside Baptist Church, and an U.S. Army Veteran.

A man of God, he was active in his church and loved being with his family. He was known for his commitment to serving clients and customers throughout his life in both grocery and the real estate business. His passion in life, however, was meeting every need of his beloved wife, Wanda, who was with him from the time she was 16 years old. He will be greatly missed by all of his family whom he loved to feed, love, and nurture.

Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters Karen Weddle Wofford of Radford, Va.; Merri Lisa Weddle of Greenville, S.C. and Nikki Weddle Washer of Greer, S.C.; one son, Lonnie Garrettt Weddle of Draper, Va.; brother John Earl Weddle of Mt. Airy, N.C.; sister Alice Weddle Summers of Galax,Va.; twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, March 28,2011 at the Morningside Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Tony Miller. The graveside service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday in Mount Olivet Community Cemetery, Woodlawn, Va.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be one until three Sunday afternnon at The Wood Mortuary. The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to National Hoops Ministry, P.O. Box 170896, Spartanburg, S.C. 29301.
