Lonnie L. Herring ,72 of Fries, Va. passed away on Monday July 19th. Born in Mississippi, He lived in Richmond working for Parker Lancaster Home Builders as a supervisor before retiring. He also served our country as an Airman 1st class in the US Air Force. He is survived by his loving wife Ronella; a daughter, Lonya Herring along with 4 grandchildren and son Lonnie Lewis Herring II both of Richmond. A stepson Douglas Merrill of Richmond and a stepdaughter Dena Bracy of Fairfax VA. Also surviving are 2 sisters and brother-in-law Annie & Bob Whitfield of Mechanicsville VA and Vondine Lowe of Grafton VA and 2 brothers Walter Herring of Richmond and Johnny Rushing of Meadeville MS. He is also survived by sisters in law and spouse Frances Brewer; and Marcy and Jerry Hall all of Fries. He was also survived by many neices and nephews. He will be missed deeply by all who were fortunate enough to share his life. A memorial service will be held Friday July 23 at Liberty Hill United Methodist Church in Fries at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Tim Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Macular Degeneration Research.
