Lonnie William (Bill) Martin age 75 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday, July 3,2010 at his home.
Mr. Martin was born on August 6, 1934 in Grayson County, Virginia to William Lonnie and Ora Oleavy Thompson Martin.
He is survived by his wife Doris Sizemore Martin of Galax, Va. son and daughter-in-law Carl and Janice Martin of Galax, Va.; granddaughter Emily Stitsinger of Hamilton, Ohio; great-grandson Austin Stitsinger; sisters Lucille Wilson, Frances Moretz and Pauline Hall all of Galax, Va.; brother-in-law and wife Gilmer and Ruth Sizemore of Galax, Va.; many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Hillcrest Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Rev. James Cowley and Rev. Ernie Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery with Moose Rites by Galax Lodge #733. The family will receive friends Monday night from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church Building Fund.
