Lola Catherine Williams age 98 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, December 16, 2010 in the Waddell Nursing Home.

Mrs. Williams was born on December 23, 1911 in Carroll County, Virginia to Bill and Alice Dillon Carico. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Foley Williams and son-in-law J.C. McMickle.

She is survived by her daughters Louise Williams and Kathleen McMickle; son and daughter-in-law Billy and Betty Williams all of Galax, Virginia; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 19, 2010 at 2:30 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Marvin Williams and Lawrence Warden officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the charity of the donor's choice. The family ask that all food for the family be taken to the Galax Moose Lodge on Sunday for their reception.
