Lois D. Higgins age 86 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Higgins was born on March 20, 1921 in Ohio to Aris Brooks & Bertha Rozella Felts Davis. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Pius Charles Higgins and a son Gene Higgins. She is survived by her daughter & son-in-law Nancy H. & David Bates of Vinton, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Ronnie D. & Dana Higgins of Galax, Va.; daughter-in-law Kay Higgins of Ridgeway; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and her lifelong friend Una Bedsaul. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 25,2007 at 1:00 PM in Oakland United Methodist Church with Rev. John Ousley; Rev. Richard Gregory and Rev. David Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior to the funeral service. The family will receive friends Friday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
