Lloyd David Harrison Green age 80 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, December 7, 2012 in the Forsyth Medical Center.
Mr. Green was born on April 14, 1932 in Davie County, West Virginia to Joseph David and Minnie Elizabeth Hall Green. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Billie M. Green; daughters Paula Thomas and Mary Huff; sisters Beatrice Mahaffey; Mildred Stone and Margaret Lawson; brothers Stanley Green; Wallace Green and Albert Green.
Mr. Green proudly served his country in the US Navy.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Green of Galax, Virginia; children Michael Green of Dobson, North Carolina; Kathy Gibson and Sharon Mullins both of Welch, West Virginia; Hazel Keys of Galax, Virginia; sisters-in-law Brenda Green and Louise Green both of Galax, Virginia; Doris Green of Bluefield, West Virginia; twelve grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday, December 10, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bill Linkous and Rev. Jeff Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
