Linwood Dean Melton age 85 of Lexington, North Carolina passed away Friday April 15, 2022 in the Brookstone Retirement Center in Lexington.

Mr. Melton was born in Carroll County, Virginia on August 23, 1936 to Barney and Eula Fowler Melton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Shirley Temple Ring Melton and son Ronnie Dean Melton.

He is survived by his children and spouses Donald and Tammy Melton of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; Sharon and David Burnworth of High Point, North Carolina; Timothy and Brenda Melton of High Shoals, North Carolina; Vicky Cameron of Knoxville, Tennessee; Pamela and Kenny Hayes of Lexington, North Carolina; sister Regina Swinney of Woodlawn, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Ray and Shirley Melton of Woodlawn, Virginia; Larry and Martha Melton of Chattanooga, Tennessee; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday at 3:00 PM in the Melton Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
