Linwood B. "Doodle" Lawrence, 87, passed away Friday, February 15, 2013 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA. He was born in Cambria, Virginia on Monday, February 16, 1925 to Lemuel and Amanda Taylor Lawrence. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife June Lawrence, daughter Kathy Anderson, and sisters Anna Byrd and Margaret Winesett.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Jack and Charlotte Lawrence of the Fairview Community, Galax, VA; son-in-law John Anderson of the Baywood Community, Galax, VA; grandchildren and spouses: Tammy Harmon, Jackie Lynn and Benji Rippey, Joel Anderson, Jordan and Crystal Anderson, Jacob Anderson; great-grandchildren Hunter Rippey, Cole Pickett, Aiden Anderson and Hannah Rippey; brothers Clifton Lawrence of Salem, Virginia; Cullen Lawrence of Galax, Virginia; sister Mildred Campbell of Roanoke, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Monday, February 18, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Sam Holder officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12 Noon until service time at the funeral home.
