Linda Lou Carico Sumner age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at her home.

Linda was born in Carroll County, Virginia on May 5, 1945 to James Roger and Nona Faye Higgins Carico. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Marshall William Sumner; a sister Debra Carico; three brothers Ronnie Carico; Dennis Carico and Thomas Carico..

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Elaine and Michael Curtis of Galax, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Mark and Laura Sumner of Salisbury, North Carolina; sisters and brothers-in-law Geneva and Clifford Horton of Clarksville, Tennessee; Brenda and Larry Carpenter; Mary Carrico all of Galax, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Roger and Norma Carico; Kenneth and Debbie Carico all of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Jordan Osborne; John Sumner; Canaan Dixon and Jacob Dixon; four great-grandchildren; Seth Newman; Tucker Newman; Allison Osborne and Cassidy Dixon; three step-grandchildren Haley Bowler; Sadie Bowler and Mary Reese Bowler; several nieces and nephews.
