Linda Lee
Smith Herrington
February 23, 2025
Linda Lee Smith Herrington left this world and went to her heavenly home on the morning of February 23, 2025, at the age of 84.
Linda was born on July 24, 1940 in Indian Head, Maryland to Charlie and Nora Lucretia Russell Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Bonnie Lou Bobbitt and brothers Gene Russell and Sandy Russell.
Linda lived a rich life-rich in faith, family and service. Her deep love for the Lord was evident in everything she did. Her greatest joy was her family and she loved all in a large way. A testimony of her life, every member of her family rallied around her in her final days to spend just a few more minutes in her light. It was a blessing to share in Linda's constant positivity, listen to her stories of years gone by and feel her love and joy. Linda gave her family everything they ever needed, which was unconditional love and constant prayer.
She loved feeding people, from her days owning a sub shop to feeding her family and church. Linda loved the flowers received in her lifetime, therefore, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Loaves and Fish Food Pantry at Endless Possibilities Church.
She is survived by her children and their spouses Bernie and Susan Herrington of Galax, Virginia; Mike and Shady Herrington Forbus of Lewisville, North Carolina; Joey and Tammy Herrington of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Chris and Kristal Herrington of Charleston, South Carolina; grandchildren and spouses Allison Herrington; Hunter Herrington; Stone and Carley Forbus; Pebbles Forbus; Taylor Herrington; Garrett Herrington; Eli Jones; Reanna and Justin Burch; sister Betty Ann Smith; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday at Snow Hill Baptist Church at 2:00 PM with Pastor Rodney Christman and granddaughter Pebbles Forbus officiating. Burial will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Snow Hill Baptist Church.
