Linda Lou  Horton age 72 of Fries, Virginia passed away Thursday May 8, 2025 in the Forsyth Medical Center.

Linda was born on March 8, 1953 in Galax, Virginia to Robert Bruce and Ileta Dowell Porter.

She is survived by her husband Montie Lewis Horton of Fries, Virginia; son and daughter-in-law Michael Lewis and Tammy Horton of Independence, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Glenda "DeeDee" and Steve Kennedy of Galax, Virginia; three grandchildren Chelsea Horton and Micah Robinette; Kendra and Gavin Phipps; Emily Horton; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Lee Thomas and the Rev. Joe Carrico officiating. Burial will follow in the Atkins Memorial Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
