Linda Gail Haynes age 76 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 4, 2025 in the Forsyth Medical Center.

Linda was born in Grayson County, Virginia on November 26, 1948 to Gladon and Mildred Hackler Phipps. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Haynes and  brothers Billy Phipps and Michael Phipps.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Jackie and Tommy Hampton of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Ella Liddle of Hillsville, Virginia; Susan and Jerry Gibson of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren Laura Hampton and Katie Hampton; two great-grandchildren Karli Vaught and Lane Mayfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Ricky Miller and the Rev. Allen Testerman officiating. Burial will follow in the Grubbs Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
