Linda Jean Ayers age 65 of Galax, Va. passed away Friday, October 3, 2008 in North Carolina Baptist Hospital. Linda was born on January 8, 1943 in Carroll County, Va. to John Wesley & Dorcas E. Arnold Patton. She is survived by a son & daughter-in-law Jamie & Christi Ayers of Galax, Va.; sisters & brothers-in-law Brenda & Harry Jones of Fries, Va.; Nancy & Barry Melton of Hillsville, Va.; two granddaughters; one niece; three nephews and two great-nephews. The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Baptist Church where the body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service with Rev. Garry Adams officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 until 8:30 at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
