Lilly Marietta Russell age 68 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2017 in the Forsyth Medical Center.
Marietta was born in Galax, Virginia on July 7, 1949 to Guy Morgan and Iva Lee Spivey Melton.
She is survived by her husband William Raymond Russell; daughter and her significant other Misty Dawn McLaurin and Joseph Vecsey; son William Anthony Russell and significant other Shelly Marshall all of Galax, Virginia; three grandchildren Anthony Gregg (T.J.) McLaurin; Kalon Gregg McLaurin and Kaytlyn Paige Russell; sisters Betty Burcham; Barbara Padgett; Judy Boyles; Fonda LeClair all of Galax, Virginia; Sharon Huffman of Hillsville, Virginia; brother Gary Melton of Woodlawn, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 4:00 PM at the Galax Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Titus Anderson officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. At the request of Marietta her body was donated to science.
