Lillie Mae Woodel's Obituary
Lillie Mae Woodel age 74 of Galax, Virginia passed away Saturday July 12, 2014 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Woodel was born Alleghany County, North Carolina on March 12, 1940 to John L.M. and Eunice Galyean Tompkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Elmo Phipps Woodel.
She is survived by her daughter Kathy Woodel Utt of Jefferson City, Tennessee; son and daughter-in-law Mike and Dana Woodel of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Timothy Alan & Rhonda Utt; Shannon Leigh and Keith Garrett; Emily Jordan Woodel and Jacob Morgan Woodel; step-granddaughter Holly Nicole Shaffner; great-grandchildren Cameron James Utt and Catelyn Lily Utt; sisters Reva Williams of Independence, Virginia; Rosa Newman of Galax,Virginia; brother Don Tompkins of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held Monday, July 14, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Midway Baptist Church with the Rev. Myron Dalton officiating.
Burial followed in the Monta Vista Cemetery. There was no visitation at the funeral home.
