Lillie Mae Melton age 95 of Galax, Virginia passed away peacefully with her grandson by her side on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in High Point, North Carolina.

Mrs. Melton was born in Carroll County, Virginia on November 27, 1920 to Dempsey and Laura Loucinda Bolen Edwards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her first husband and father of the children Luther W. Galyean, Sr. and her second husband Thomas Eugene Melton; a grandson Andy Davis.

She is survived by her children and spouses Luther W. Galyean, Jr. and Brenda of Copper Hill, Virginia; Carol and Bert Elliot of Galax, Virginia; Judy and Gary Spears of Cocoa, Florida; Barbara and Terry Collins of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; grandchildren Jackie Galyean; Rodger Davis; Michael Johnson; Angela Spears Scott; Anna Collins and Christopher Collins; three great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the Hillcrest Baptist Church with Deacon Jason Criner officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Hillcrest Baptist Church.
