Obituary

Lillie Belle Caudell, born July 4th, 1930 to Theo and Lissie Stella Edwards.

She was preceded in death by her precious husband Leo Caudell of 59 years, her precious mother Lissie Edwards, two special brothers, JC Edwards and Robert Edwards and a sister-in-law Jean Edwards.

She is survived by nephew and wife Greg and Debbie Edwards of Hillsville, Virginia; niece and husband Pam and David Flippin of Galax, Virginia; two very special great nieces and husbands Megan and Aaron Hall; Kasey and Nathan Gough; five very special great-great-nieces and nephews, Ava,  Davaney, Luke, Westin and Benton; a very special niece and husband Darlene and Clyde Parks; a very special nephew and wife Charlie and Lisa Delp; many, many very special other nieces, nephews, friends and family.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the wonderful staff in the cardiology unit at Lewis Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg for their love and compassion care given to Aunt Belle during her final days. Also, the kindness and care from the hospice staff was a comfort to not only Aunt Belle but to the family as well.

Aunt Belle loved every day to the fullest. Her main goal in life was serving others. There was no greater joy to her than knowing her family was happy, well and had everything they needed.  Her servants' heart led her to bless so many people with canned food from her large garden she worked in and enjoyed every summer and her home cooking she shared with her family and friends often. Not every family is a blessed as we were to have had an Aunt Belle. Her love was deeper than the ocean and her joy of her family was greater than the stars in the sky.

She was a bright light to all who knew her .Although she didn't drive herself, she never lacked for friends and family taking her wherever she needed to go because she was such a joy to be around. Although there is a void in our hearts with the passing of our precious Aunt Belle her spirit will live on in our lives and we are assured she is rejoicing in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and her precious family that preceded her in death. We have joy in knowing we can see her again one day soon.

The funeral service will be held Thursday at 2:00 PM in the Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ with Marvin Williams and Lawrence Warden officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Mt. Pisgah Church of Christ.
