Lillian D. Lindsey born June 11, 1908, passed away January 3, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband Bernard "Bun" Lindsey and sisters, Dorothy Dobyns Ashby, Stella Dobyns Hahn and Dora Dobyns Nelms.

She is survived by her son Bernard Lindsey, Jr. and wife Linda of Richwood, WV, two grandchildren, Ginger Lindsey of Louisville, KY, Andrew and wife Patricia of Cove, OR; and three great-grandchildren, Riley, Jacob and Lillian; and special nephew John Ashby of Galax, VA.

Mrs. Lindsey was a graduate of Radford University and dedicated her life to teaching and her family. She taught for 44 years starting in a one-room school and ending her career with the Galax City Schools.

The funeral service will be held Wed., January 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA with the Rev. Walt Simmerman
officiating. Burial will follow in Gladeville Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
