Lillian Jean Chappell age 81 of Hillsville, Virginia passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2024 in the Kindred Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Mrs. Chappell was born in Carroll County, Virginia on April 14, 1943 to William Kenny and Ida Faye Edwards Cocke. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Bruce Chappell, Sr and a brother Tommy Cocke.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Joseph and Marie Chappell, Jr.; Kim and Kym Chappell; brother Paul Cocke; grandchildren Kory, Kayla, Colton and Kaydence Chappell; Kelly and Katie Hawks; Evan, Elissa and Elaina Viars; eight great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2:00 PM at the Great Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastor James Billings officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
