Lila Ruth Boone, age 91 of Galax, VA, died Sunday, Aug, 18, 2013 at the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA.
Mrs. Boone was born March 14, 1922 in Galax, VA to Luther F. and Alverta Cox Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Boone.
She is survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Ralph W. & Delores Boone, Galax, VA; grandchildren, Michelle & John Beamer, Robert Boone, Mike & Carolyn Boone; four great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 in the Meadow Creek Union Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. She will lie in state one hour preceding the funeral service at the church. Burial will
follow at the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA. Officiating ministers will be Elder Doug Hawks, Elder Pete Hawks and Pastor Tommy Barnes.
