Letty June Hanks age 76 of Cana, Virginia passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2011 in the Forsyth Medical Center.
Mrs. Hanks was born in Carroll County, Virginia on June 11, 1935 to Posey and Florence Lawson Bobbitt. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Danny Rippey; three sisters and three brothers.
She is survived by her husband Arnold Lee Hanks of Cana, Virginia; granddaughters & spouse
Jeri & Doug Horton of Fancy Gap, Virginia; Rachel Rippey of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; great-grandchildaren Jacob Lineberry; Jaxon Horton and Ayden Rippey; two sisters Hazel Sumner and Patsy Seal both of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; special sister-in-law Rubye Bobbitt of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2011 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewey Felts officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
