Lettico Miriam Christman age 83 of Galax, Virginia passed away Tuesday June 27, 2023 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center.

Mrs. Christman was born in Fries, Virginia on October 21, 1939 to Joseph Trent and Mabel Ida Matkins Byrd, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl Morris Christman, sister Clara Mae LaRue and brother Joseph Trent Byrd, Jr.

She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Sonya and Robert Hicks of Fries, Virginia; Denise and Dewayne Mabe of Galax, Virginia; two sons and daughter-in-law Tim and Teresa LaRue; Rueben Christman all of Galax, Virginia;  two sisters Darlene Christman and Phyllis LaRue both of Galax, Virginia; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Friday at 2:30 in the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Pastors Chuck Edwards, Kathy Collier and Rodney Christman officiating . The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home
