Lester Truman Vaught age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 at his home.
Lester was born in Elk Creek (Grayson County) Virginia on May 6, 1945 to Minor Wade and Beliesa Bourne Vaught. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Payton Wade Vaught, Sr.; sisters Annie Carter; Peggy Eckel; Lois Lyons; Mattie Wingate; Daris Day; Catherine Haga;Charlene Dixon and Alene Hash; brothers Robert Vaught; Ted Vaught; Johnny Vaught; Lawrence Vaught and Dan Vaught.
He is survived by his wife Linda Lou Brown Vaught of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren Brady Lynn Vaught and Payton Wade Vaught, Jr.; brother David Vaught of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses with Jim Reyes officiating.
