Lester Truman Vaught age 81 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, July 10, 2026 at his home.
Lester was born in Elk Creek (Grayson County) Virginia on May 6, 1945 to Minor Wade and Beliesa Bourne Vaught. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Payton Wade Vaught, Sr.; sisters Annie Carter; Peggy Eckel; Lois Lyons; Mattie Wingate; Darris Day; Catherine Haga and Charlene Dixon; brothers Robert Vaught; Ted Vaught; Johnny Vaught; Lawrence Vaught and Dan Vaught.
He is survived by his wife Linda Lou Brown Vaught of Galax, Virginia; two grandchildren Brady Lynn Vaught and Payton Wade Vaught, Jr.; and his brother David Vaught of Galax, Virginia.
Lester’s wishes were for his body to be cremated and no services held at this time.
