Lessie Alma Taylor, 82, of Fries, Virginia passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 in the Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba County in Newton, North Carolina. Lessie was born February 15, 1931 in Grayson County, Virginia to Grover Cleveland Clyburn and Flora Margaret Phibbs Clyburn. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lester.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law: Glenda and Melvin Alley of Taylorsville, North Carolina; two grandsons and their wives Scotty and Brenda Alley and Manuel and Denise Alley; great grandson Tyler Alley, great granddaughters: Amanda Johnson, Stephanie Johnson, and Amy Manning; brother: Jerry Clyburn of Fries; sisters-in-law: Patsy Clyburn and Opal Clyburn both of Fries; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Fries Church of God of Prophecy. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until time for the service.
