Leslie Thomas Nichols age 83 passed peacefully on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital in Winston Salem.  Leslie was a kind and caring gentleman who had many dear and close friends and family members.  He grew up in Baywood VA and attended Galax High School where he graduated in 1956.  He went on to attend Surry Community College followed by Appalachian State University receiving his degree in Business Management with a focus in Human Resources.

Leslie was also a veteran who served his country in the United States Air force.  After returning from the service Leslie began his life time career with Burlington Industries beginning in 1960 and ending in retirement in 1996.   He also enjoyed serving his community and served on many committees and clubs including the Galax Moose Club and Baywood Ruritan Club.  Leslie and his wife were long time members with Cross Roads Primitive Baptist church of Baywood where he enjoyed serving the Lord and was known to open up his home and farm to entertain, learn, and share the word of God with others.  Leslie married the love of his life Linda Morris Nichols on April 21, 1962 and lived out an amazing love story until his last breath.  He is survived by his two daughters Amy Nichols of Radford VA, Beth Nichols Angle of Clemmons NC and his 3 grandchildren Madison Angle of Greensboro, NC, Parker and Ava Angle of Clemmons NC.  He is also survived by his two favorite fur babies London and Phoebe. The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
