Leota Gaye Leonard Hale age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Hale was born in Galax, Virginia on January 16, 1933 to Otie and Charlotte "Lottie" Bartlett Leonard. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Harry Dean Hale; twin brother Ray Leonard and siblings Louise Cooley, Lucille Carr, Thomas Leonard, Bobby Leonard and Gene Leonard.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Jerry and Rebecca Hale of Christiansburg, Virginia; Rodney Dean and Ramona Hale of Elk Creek, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses; Tabatha and Chris Quesenberry, Kristen and Gregory Lewis, Erica and Brandon Haney, Miranda and Richard White; great-grandchildren Easton Quesenberry, Emerson Quesenberry, Ensley Quesenberry, London White, Savannah White, Skylar White and Anderson Lewis; sisters and brother-in-law, Lillian and Harold McMillan, Betty Jennings, and Carolyn Cox.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Lawerence Warden and Johnny Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
