Leonia Jennings Mckinney's Obituary
Leonia Jennings McKinney age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Jennings was born on July 12, 1933 in Galax, Virginia to Thomas and Ruby Kyle Jennings. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Rex McKinney.
She is survived by her children Rhoda Jean McKinney; Danny Ray McKinney and Dorothy Ann McKinney all of Galax, Virginia; Marie Allen Ramirez of Mobile, Alabama; sisters Francis Thompson of Elk Creek, Virginia; Hazel Ferguson of Sanford, Florida; Christine Maxwell and Louise Willis both of Galax, Virginia; brothers Ralph "Pedro" Kyle and Lawrence Jennings both of Galax, Virginia; Leon Jennings of Brooklyn, New York; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one adopted grandchild Kristine Heaton; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, March 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Sidney Beamer and Rev. Daryl Beamer officiating. Burial will follow in the Elk Creek Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 noon until time for the funeral service at the funeral home.
