Leonard McCoy Chappell age 88 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Chappell was born in Carroll County, Virginia on July 28, 1932 to Earnest Albert and Inis Hazel Edmonds Chappell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Thelma Roberts; brother Larry Chappell and a son-in-law Charles Wayne Stoots.

He is survived by his wife Ida Hall Chappell of Woodlawn, Virginia; daughters and son-in-law Evelyn Stoots; Wanda and Ron Spurlin of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Angela and Steve Wyatt; Kimberley and Robert Blevins; Jeff and Heather Stoots; Jenny and Stacy Reedy; Beth Anne Stoots; great-grandchildren and spouses Drake; Brandon and Rylee; Grayson; Julie; Kelly and Shawn; Amber; Hannah; Jordan; Devin; several great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 1:00 PM in the Woodlawn Cemetery with Brandon Blevins officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
