Leo Bert Collins age 86 of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away Thursday, January 9, 2014 in the Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville, North Carolina.

Mr. Collins was born in Alleghany County, North Carolina on October 11, 1927 to Bennett and Beatrice Hendrix Collins.

He is survived by his wife Vesta Marion Poole Collins of Charlotte, North Carolina; daughter and son-in-law Barbara and Steve Betker of Charlotte, North Carolina; son and daughter-in-law Roger and Carla Collins of Glade Valley, North Carolina; grandchildren Merry and Justin Carter of Hampton, Virginia; Lee Ann and John Roberts of Thompson Station, Tennessee; James Betker and Joshua Betker both of Charlotte, North Carolina; great-grandchildren Lauren Carter; Marion Carter and Carlee Roberts.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 1:00 PM in the Crab Creek Primitive Baptist Church with Elder James Wyatt and the Rev. Everett Shaw officiating. Burial will follow in the Crab Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 11:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Crab Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
