Lenore Fischer Wood, age 80, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007, at Carrington Place of Wytheville. Mrs. Wood retired from Carroll County School Systems with 26 years of service.

She is survived by three daughters & two sons-in-law: Janice Melton of Galax; Janet & Ronald Lydie of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; and Robin & Lynwood Funk of Buchanan, VA. Five Grandchildren: Robin Edge, Shannon Farmer, Amy Dilley, Meaghan Funk, & Heather Funk also survive along with five great grandchildren and two sisters: Lucille Husband of Ellenton, Florida and Marty Standifer of Lakeland, Florida.

The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6 until 8 o'clock at the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. The funeral will be held Tuesday at 2:00 PM in the Chapel with Rev. Lee Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Felts Cemetery in Galax.
