Lena Mae Fortner Ramey, age 81, Galax, VA, died Monday, Aug. 1, 2016 at Waddell Nursing & Rehab Center, Galax, VA.
Mrs. Ramey was born July 13, 1935 in Galax, VA to Harve Fortner and Dora Dickens Fortner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior Oscar Ramey.
She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Bartley, Galax, VA; sons & daughters-in-law, Larry & Jewel Ramey, Nags Head, NC, Michael & Vicki Ramey, Low Gap, NC, Johnny & Teresa Ramey, Galax, VA,
Brian & Carri Ramey, Galax, VA; grandchildren, Brad, Brandy, Alison, Amber, Amanda, Maci, Hallie and Brayden; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Kaylie, Eli, Coby, Austin, Mara, Gracie and Maggie.
Several nieces & nephews, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Friday, Aug. 5, 2016 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home at 4:00 PM with burial to follow in the Saddle Mountain Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Friday at the funeral home. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Garry Adams and the Rev. Ted Bartlett.
The family will receive friends, and family, thruout the week at 119 Sunset Drive, Galax and they extend a special thanks to Twin County Hospice, Waddell Nursing Home Staff, Denise Davis and Larry & Michelle Diamond.
