Lena Ileen Brewer Trimble, 79, of Fries passed away Wednesday evening at her home. Lena was born October 4, 1932 in Speedwell, VA to Charles Brewer & Lelia Newman Brewer. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her husband Samuel Boyd Trimble and son Samuel Boyd (Buddy) Trimble, Jr.
She is survived by four daughters & sons-in-law: Lena & Ovis Funk, Jewel Sizemore and Harry Boyles, Rebecca & Tim Clontz all of Fries; Linda & Joey Tweedy of Evington, Virginia; one son & daughter-in-law Samuel Boyd (Sammy) Trimble, III & Debra of Fries; mother Lelia Newman of Altavaista, Virginia; one sister Rosemary Dalton of Palmyra, Virginia; four brothers & sisters-in-law: Jimmy & Nancy Brewer of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Chapman Leonard, Jr. & Marcia of Pfafftown, North Carolina; Eddie Brewer of DelMar, Maryland; Bruce & Michelle Testerman of Long Island, Virginia; sister-in-law: Mae T. Dixon of Fries. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren: Brian Sizemore, Stacey Alderman, Brad Funk, Ryan Funk, Eric Clontz, Danielle Clontz, Cameron Clontz, Jody Tweedy, Melinda Campbell, Daniel Tweedy, & Samantha Trimble; sixteen great grandchildren; Special companions Fluffy and Roscoe and special friends Carlene, Debbie, Michelle, and Eva.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage and Rev. Jay Fields officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery, Fries, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7 until 9 pm at the funeral home.
