Lawrence Gilmer Spencer's Obituary
Lawrence Gilmer Spencer, age 76, of Galax, VA, died Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax, VA.
Mr. Spencer was born in Pulaski County, VA, September 4, 1935 to William Elmer and Margie Alice Hoover Spencer.
He is survived by his wife, Lessie Spencer of the home; sisters, Nancy Johnson, Woodlawn, VA, Mary Delp, Galax, VA and one brother, Dan Spencer of Galax, VA. Also surviving is a special friend, Friskie.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 14, 2011 in the Landmark Baptist Church at 2:00 PM. The body will lie in state for one hour preceding the funeral service and the family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Tuedsay, at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home, Galax, VA. Officiating minister will be the Rev. Ronnie Harrison.
