Lawrence Haley Bryant age 57 of Ashland passed away Friday, October 19, 2007. A loving husband and devoted father, he is survived by his wife of 27 years, Freida Sumner Bryant; one daughter, Mary Beth; his mother, Doris Washington of Bowling Green, Va.; and one brother, Ernest M. Bryant of Bowling Green, Va.;. He is also survived by his father-in-law & mother-in-law Ardath & Doris Sumner of Woodlawn, Va.; brother-in-law & sister-in-law Johnny & Jeanette Smith of Morristown, Tennessee. The family will receive friends at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home in Galax from 7-9 pm on Monday, October 22. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 23 at the Crooked Creek Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bon Secours Hospice, 5875 Bremo Road, Suite 710, Richmond, Va. 23226, The National Kidney Foundation, or The American Cancer Society.
